lyrics

The water’s rising, a tide without mercy
Can’t wash away the blood on our hands
Horrific crimes against this place we call home
Is it too late to close these wounds we’ve opened?
We salt the earth and leave the land barren
Too many times, I don’t want to count
Ignore the signs
Proceed with destruction
Of the trees of life

With open eyes I see the light fade
As oceans rise and the skies turn grey
I fill my lungs up with this acrid air
And see the world in bloom around me

The sky is crying a rain of regret
flowing rivers of red
Lightning flashing
it dances fiercely inside my head
Feel the thunder, it urges me forward
To change this passage of fate
The gavel strikes, retribution falls
Is it too late?

With open eyes I see the light fade
As oceans rise and the skies turn grey
I fill my lungs up with this acrid air
And see the world in bloom around me

Save yourself
Escape to higher ground
Buy your way to freedom and leave the rest to drown
Save yourself
Hide yourself away
Climb the highest mountain and live another day

Blooming colour disappears around me
Fading before my eyes

With open eyes I see the light fade
As oceans rise and the skies turn grey
I fill my lungs up with this acrid air
And see the world in bloom around me
